Lincoln-Way East (19-15) blanked the fourth-ranked Phoenix of Lincoln-Way North (33-3-1) behind a two-hit shutout from RHP Karl Henderson. Aaron Donald and Evan Sandman led the Griffin attack with a pair of hits each. Donald singled and tripled and had two RBI while Sandman had two singles and an RBI. Ryan Weitendorf chipped in with a single double and an RBI. Henderson struck out one and walked three in his two-hit masterpiece.

ILLINOIS WESLEYAN SECTIONAL
No. 12 Moline 6, No. 18 Plainfield South 1
Moline (25-9) rolled past Plainfield South (26-10) behind a complete-game masterpiece from Maroon RHP Dallas DeVrieze (9-2). The hard-hitting Matt Brill led the Maroon attack with a double, triple, two runs scored and an RBI.
No. 23 Alton 5, Belleville East 4
Alton’s (27-9) 6-foot-7 sophomore Bryan Hudson did it all for the Redbirds on Wednesday. He made himself the winning pitcher and sent Redbird Nation into orbit when he singled to left to drive home the Redbird game-winner in the bottom of the ninth. Hudson fired four scoreless innings in relief, allowing just one hit to pick up the win.

Dundee Crown 15 No. 20 Prairie Ridge 4
Cinderella Dundee-Crown (11-18) scored ten times in the first inning, added three runs in the second inning and ended the 20th ranked Wolves (25-12) season on Wednesday. Charger Drew Kissack led the DC attack with three singles, two runs scored and four RBI. Vince Damato had a double two singles and three RBI. LHP Ahern Ludwig allowed two runs in four innings to pick up the win while Charger closer LHP Chase Bloch slammed the door on the Wolves firing 2 1/3 inings of shutout relief to nail down the save.

Libertyville (25-11-1) won this thriller in the bottom of the sixth on a sac-fly from Wildcat Kevin Calamari. Calamari had two hits and plated both Wildcat runs. Wildcat RHP Nate Cote fired a three-hit masterpiece at the Vikings.

Grayslake Central 8, Lake View 0
Grayslake Central (25-12) crushed Lake View behind Ram ace LHP Kevin Peloza, who fired six shutout innings allowing three hits with 11 punch-outs. Dylan Reed, Pat Burba and Kyle Balling all had a hit and an RBI for the victorious Rams. Peloza improved to 7-0 on the season and lowered his ERA to a miniscule 0.71 ERA. Peloza has 78 strikeouts in 67 innings pitched for the Rams.
NAZARETH ACADEMY SECTIONAL
Nazareth Academy 6, Riverside-Brookfield 3
Nazareth Academy (26-11-1) exploded for five runs in the bottom of the sixth, to get past Riverside-Brookfield (29-5-1) on Wednesday. Junior Jake Bartels’ bases-clearing double was the big blow in the Roadrunner sixth. Andrew Barreto chipped in with a single double and plated a Roadrunner run. LHP Pete Minella fired 1 2/3 inings of scoreless relief to pick up the win.

St. Francis 2, Burlington Central 1
St. Francis’ (20-11) Tim Zettinger plated Jake Petrando, who had singled, with the eventual game-winner in the top of the ninth. LHP Andy Brundage retired the last two Rocket hitters in the bottom of the ninth to nail down the save for Petrando, who picked up the win.
WASHINGTON SECTIONAL
No. 8 Metamora 3, No. 11 Galesburg 2
Metamora (30-4) won in walk-off fashion, defeating Galesburg (28-10) in eight thrilling innings on Wednesday. Redwing sophomore Ethan Skender lined a single to right, his fourth hit of the day, to plate Brady Fairfield with the game-winner, which set off a joyous post-game celebration among the Redbird contingent in the Washington High School parking lot. Fairfield chipped in with a double and an RBI for the Mid-Illini Conference co-champs
Redbird super-soph RHP Trent Johnson (8-1) went the distance for Metamora, allowing two runs and two hits with seven strikeouts.

Mount Vernon 2, Effingham 0
Mount Vernon (29-8-1) blanked the Flaming Hearts from Effingham (19-14) behind Ram junior ace RHP Brock Fulkerson (10-2). Fulkerson fired a two-hit shutout at Effingham.
SPRINGFIELD SECTIONAL
No. 19 Chatham Glenwood 2, Champaign Centennial 1
It was Christmas in May for Chatham Glenwood (22-8). After Champaign Centennial picked up a gift run in the top of the 11th, the Charger defense made two errors to set the Titans up. Titan sophomore Sam Anderson ripped a single to tie the game and then Titan senior Jake Atterberry ripped his fourth hit of the game, plating senior Roman Ballenger with the walk-off winner.
Bloomington 5, Taylorville 2
Bloomington (27-10) rolled past the Tornadoes behind sophomore Charlie Cerny. Cerny fired 5 2/3 innings at Taylorville allowing a pair of runs with seven strikeouts to improve to 8-1. Senior Ken Frantz turned the lights-out on the Tornadoes with 1 2/3 innings of hitless relief to nail down his first save of the season.

ST. IGNATIUS SECTIONAL
Harlan 3, U-High 2
Harlan (20-11) won a thriller in nine inings over U-High (16-6) when Falcon Christian Bland hit a clutch two-run double to give the Falcons the walk-off winner at UIC. Falcon ace Semaj Wilson went the distance allowing two runs six hits and had 14 strikeouts.
LINCOLN-WAY WEST SECTIONAL
No. 15 Joliet Catholic Academy 10, Rich Central 0
Joliet Catholic Academy (21-14-1) blasted Rich Central in five innings behind senior RHP Cal Placher (7-4). Placher fired a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts at the Olympians. Sophomore Nick Dalesandro led the Hilltoppers with two hits and three RBI. Sophomore Keegan Tyrell added two hits and two RBI.
