Austin Klug - NIACC

PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Klug: I chose NIACC because of the coaching staff and the way that they develop their pitchers.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Klug: I was considering Winona State and Jamestown (Baseball and Basketball) and Kirkwood CC

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

Klug: They first saw me a couple years at a SDSU camp and at a tournament in Milwaukee. Our relationship developed quick and very easy.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Klug: I feel really relieved to be done with the decision and get to working even harder.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Klug: The one deciding factor was their pitching coach and also their pitching development.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Klug: My basketball and baseball coaches and definitely my mom and dad the most.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Klug: My expectations were kind of different than what actually happened. COVID-19 made the recruiting process really hard for me.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Klug: They will continue to develop velocity by focusing on strength and lower half movements. Along with cleaning up off-speed.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Klug: My most memorable moment in baseball is going to Legion State in 2019.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Klug: The best player I have competed against is probably Will Rogers.
