PBR Minnesota strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?
Schewe: I chose DCTC because career wise it was right for me also, I liked the environment, coaching staff and the team success in past couple years.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Schewe: Some of the other schools I was considering were UMD, Winona State, Concordia, Wisconsin La Crosse and St Scholastica.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?
Schewe: The coaching staff first saw me pitch at Bethel University. After that I visited DCTC, coach Erzar was very welcoming and I felt like it was an instant connection.
PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
Schewe: Yes, I am relieved, choosing a school was a big commitment but now that I committed to DCTC I will continue to work hard and hopefully play well at the next level!
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
Schewe: A couple factors that made me choose DCTC was the location of the campus, the career opportunities and the baseball program.
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
Schewe: My parents have help me the most over the past years with endless support and financial funding to let me play the sport that I love.
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
Schewe: Going into the recruiting process I thought that it would be hard to get my name out there, but understood that if I continue to work hard, I could play college level baseball.
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
Schewe: As a freshman the expectations are for me to be a starter for the DCTC pitching staff.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
Schewe: My most memorable moment still to this date is when my team and I were in the gopher state championship game. I pitched the final innings for a 5-2 victory to win state.
PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
Schewe: The best player I’ve competed against would have to be Gavin Baker. He is a great hitter and an outstanding Fielder so I’m very grateful that we’re both playing for Lakeville North baseball.
