After a busy summer of scouting prospects across the Hoosier State, it is time once again to update our class rankings. Last in our post-summer lineup, we have the 2026 class. This class is shaping up to be a deep & talented group with major arm talent at the top of the class. Throughout the summer, we saw plenty of prospects improve their overall stock and rise within this update. Today, we take a look at the current Top 10, significant risers, along with a group of prospects that consistently performed in front of our staff throughout the summer of 2023.

Notes on the Top 10

RHP Hudson Devaughan (Mooresville) remains at the top of the class. The 6-foot-3, 175 pound power-arm is a national-level prospect that has special arm talent, along with a fastball that has been up to 92 mph. The Alabama recruit possesses a power curveball at 77-80 mph that flashes sharp bite and shows the makings of a potential-plus offering. Devaughan has a sky-high ceiling when considering his athletic bloodlines, advanced arm talent, and premier frame and should continue to be looked at as one of the top right-handers in the 2026 class on a national scale.  

 

 

SS Dylan Bowen (Hanover Central) climbs to #2 in this update after having a huge spring & summer. Despite being one of the youngest players at the 2023 Future Games, Bowen stood out as one of the top prospects in attendance. The uncommitted shortstop has off-the-charts athleticism that translates directly to the diamond and allows him to be a dynamic player in all areas of the game. The 5-foot-11, 180 pounder is a 6.73 runner with the best hit-tool in Indiana’s 2026 class - showing a short, simple swing with fast hands that allows the tool to consistently show up in-game. His speed plays up on the base-paths due to his impressive instincts and it also allows him to range in the infield with exceptional foot-quickness. Expect this 2026 prospect to be amongst the most prized uncommitted players in the class when recruiting officially opens back up for 2026s on August 1st of 2024. 

 

 

A group of talented right-handed arms hold down spots 3 through 5 in Aiden Smith (Shelbyville) at #3, Sammy Swank (McCutcheon) at #4, and Rhys Wolf (Martinsville) at #5. Smith (video below), the lone uncommitted arm of the group, had a massive summer that culminated in a big performance at the PBR Future Games. A wiry, athletic 6-foot-3, 160 pounder with plenty of room for growth - Smith is a polished strike-thrower with quick & clean arm action that has produced a fastball up to 88 mph with both running and riding properties. Smith has a four-pitch mix, highlighted by sweeping, mid-70s slider with big potential and quality feel for an upper-70s changeup. Swank, a Kentucky recruit, offers immense arm talent with a fastball that has been up to 91 mph. A projectable right-hander standing at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds - Swank attacks hitter with a long, whippy arm action and shows feel for both a mid-70s slider and faded changeup at 78-81 mph. Wolf is an athletic, 6-foot-1, 180 pounder that possesses one of the best breaking balls in the  class, a 73-75 mph curveball that flashes wipeout potential. The quick-armed righty pairs his breaking ball with a fastball that will sit in the upper-80s, touching 90 mph. To round out his three-pitch mix, Wolf offers an above-average changeup thrown in the mid-to-upper 70s. 

 

 

3B Aiden Reynolds (Noblesville) checks in at #6. The 6-foot, 170 pound right-handed hitter has a confident aura when he steps to the dish, setting up in a tall, relaxed stance with the intent to do damage. Reynolds consistently produced across multiple looks this summer and his well-sequenced swing allows him to produce hard contact from gap-to-gap. The Indiana recruit also offers big arm strength across the diamond, reaching an infield velocity of 88 mph at the Preseason All-State in March.

 

 

RHP Kobe Cherry (Center Grove) has been a mainstay in the Top 10 since the initial 2026 rankings were released and checks in at #7 in this update. A physical presence on the bump, Kobe stands at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds and attacks the opposition with tons of arm strength from an over-the-top arm slot. Cherry will sit in the mid-to-upper 80s on a fastball that has been up to 90 mph and his 71-73 mph curveball shows swing-and-miss potential. 

 

 

A pair of SEC commits round out the Top 10 in RHP Tate Troxell (Guerin Catholic) and INF Nate Millington (Terre Haute North). Troxell (video below) is a strong-armed righty with strike-throwing capabilities that stands at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds. An Alabama recruit, Troxell offers a mid-to-upper 80s fastball to go along with a gradual breaking, 11/5 shaped curveball at 67-70 mph. Troxell showed vast improvements this summer on a sinking, 73-76 mph changeup. Millington offers tons of projection within a lanky, 6-foot-2, 155 pound frame. The left-handed hitting infielder has a very consistent hit-tool, finding the barrel often, and is an above-average runner. The Kentucky recruit’s ability to consistently hit in-game, along with his uber-projectable profile, keeps him in the top 10 in this update.

 

 

 

 

 

Beckett Doane LHP / Noblesville, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 1 Doane was a consensus favorite amongst our staff during the summer of 2023, sky-rocketing himself to #8 in the 2026 rankings. Beckett looks the part of a future-star with his long-levered, 6-foot-5, 175 pound frame. The projectable southpaw shows the ability to repeat a full circle arm action and the ball comes out of a deceptive, low ¾ slot. Beckett’s frame + pitchability projects him to be a starter long-term, showing feel for two distinct breaking balls, as well as a diving, mid-70s splitter that is advanced for the class. Doane currently will run his fastball up to 85 mph, but expect that number to continuously tick up as he adds strength to his frame.

 

 

 

 

Risers

 

Rob Czarniecki C / RHP / Chesterton, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 14 / POS: 1 Czarniecki was a standout this summer that consistently performed and rose his way into the top 15. Possessing a rare combination of power & speed, Czarniecki offers a strong and accurate barrel that allows for considerable power projection along with good foot-speed (6.90 runner). The muscular, 6-foot-2, 195 pounder has an aggressive right-handed swing with present bat speed, but also shows a strong ability to control the strike-zone, a trait that allowed him to consistently get on-base throughout multiple looks during the summer. Czarniecki is a standout defender with an intriguing defensive profile - a sure-handed backstop with catch & throw prowess (1.94 Pop | 77 C Velo) that can also play an above-average centerfield. Czarniecki’s arm strength can also translate to the mound, where he runs his fastball up to 84 mph.

 

 

Ian Taylor OF / 2B / Guerin Catholic, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 17 / POS: 2 Taylor is another consensus favorite amongst our staff as he offers dynamic capabilities on the diamond. An athletic, 5-foot-9, 170 pounder - Taylor stands out with an impressive, well-rounded toolset and advanced twitch. A 6.79 runner, Taylor fits the mold of a true CF prospect with advanced foot-speed and one of the best outfield arms in the class (90 mph). At the dish, the twitchy right-handed hitter possesses some of the best bat speed in the class to allow for plenty of offensive impact. Taylor’s swing is full of athleticism and the hit-tool showed up in-game across multiple looks in 2023.

 

 

Harrison Haq RHP / 1B / Penn, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 18 / POS: 8 Haq had multiple big showings on the summer circuit, as well as one of the top performances at our Underclass Games in June, inserting himself in the Top 20 within this update. The projectable, 6-foot-3, 195 pound right-hander gradually builds pace throughout a well-sequenced delivery and has a clean, compact arm action that produces a fastball that lives in the mid-80s (T 87 mph). Haq offers strike-throwing capabilities, landing a 70-74 mph curveball virtually at will and flashing a mid-70s changeup for strikes. A three-sport athlete, Haq has significant upside when considering his projectable frame, athleticism, and clean arm with strength.

 

 

Keegan Fritts RHP / 3B / New Palestine, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 22 / POS: 10 An exciting young arm that took a big step in the right direction this summer. Fritts is a young 2026 that is beginning to mature into his body, now standing at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds. A power-armed righty, Fritts attacks hitters with effort from an over-the-top arm slot that helps create life on a mid-80s fastball (T 88 mph). The fastball shows high spin metrics, creating ride at the top of the zone, which pairs well with his sharp, 71-75 mph curveball (T 2678 RPMs) with depth.

 

 

Blake Cope OF / 1B / Zionsville, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 26 / POS: 3 Cope is built like a linebacker, standing at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, and offers an exciting profile. Physical left-handed hitters with a run-tool are at a premium, and Cope fits that mold. Blake sets up in a wide stance and uses a simple leg lift stride paired with a quiet hand load to put himself in a strong position to hit. Cope has quick hands with whip in the barrel that allows for present gap-to-gap strength and considerable power projection down the road. A 6.83 runner, Cope is a primary OF that can also slide to 1B, as well.

 

 

Summer Standouts

 

Jaxon Lueken RHP / Forest Park, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 12 / POS: 7 Lueken had a strong summer on the circuit leading to his Future Games invite as one of a select group of ‘26 grads to represent Team Indiana. We received raving reviews after Lueken had a strong outing at the 17u National Program Invitational at LakePoint and he also had a quality start in front of our staff at the MPL. A three-sport athlete, Lueken has substantial upside within his 6-foot-2, 175 pound frame and there is tons of development to be had within a raw operation on the mound. Lueken shows fast arm speed on a mid-80s fastball that touches 88 mph with 18-22” of IVB and the fastball velocity should continue to climb. The Forest Park product flashes feel for a mid-70s slider that is inconsistent at this point, but has the makings to develop into a quality breaking ball.

 

 

Gannon Grant SS / RHP / Center Grove , IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 13 / POS: 4 Grant backed up a strong freshman campaign for Center Grove this spring with multiple big showings on the summer circuit, earning an invitation to the PBR Future Games. Grant is a fluid defender in the middle infielder, one of the top defensive shortstops in the class, with a budding hit-tool that shows up in-game. However, his abilities on the mound land him on this list of summer standouts. The athletic, quick-armed righty ran his fastball into the upper-80s on multiple occasions, touching 89 mph at the Grand Park Summer Championships. A strike-thrower, Grant shows the ability to land a slurvey, mid-70s breaking ball as well as a straight changeup thrown with fastball arm speed in the upper-70s. The 6-foot-1, 170 pound two-way prospect has plenty of upside when considering his athleticism and body control and shoots his way to #13 within this rankings update.

 

 

Reed Robinson C / OF / New Prairie, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 15 / POS: 2 Robinson will be a name-to-know when recruiting opens back up for 2026 prospects on August 1st of next year due to a valuable profile, as he is a switch-hitting backstop with power. Reed had a strong showing at the MPL, showing the ability to hit premium velocity, and he backed that performance with one of the top showings of any prospect at our annual Top Prospect Games, despite being the youngest player in attendance. A strong, compact 5-foot-10, 185 pounder - Robinson swings a heavy barrel from both sides of the dish, with his left-handed swing showing a bit more strength than the right-side at this point. The swing is short & repeatable from both sides and he generates advanced bat speeds for the class. Robinson is an energetic leader behind the dish and shows above-average receiving ability with good arm strength (77 C Velo).

 

 

Eli Sinsabaugh SS / 2B / Cathedral, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 21 / POS: 5 Sinsabaugh consistently performed across nearly a dozen looks throughout the summer. An advanced runner (6.65 60) with very quick feet, the tool shows up in-game as he turned in run-times in the 4.2 - 4.3 range and was able to steal bases virtually at-will. The run-tool applies pressure to the defense and pairs well with his short, level bat path that allows for consistent contact. A wiry, athletic 5-foot-8, 140 pounder - Sinsabaugh’s lean strength allows for more offensive impact than the frame suggests. In the infield, Eli has bounce in his feet, translating to range, and offers good arm strength for the class across the diamond (85 mph).

 

 

Cayden Stockbridge RHP / OF / Penn High School, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 27 / POS: 12 Stockbridge possesses all of the traits you look for when scouting a young arm - a lean, projectable frame, quality arm action, and strike-throwing capabilities. The 6-foot-1, 165 pounder had multiple strong showings on the summer circuit, as well as being one of the top performers at our Underclass Games in June. The athletic right-hander has a fluid delivery with solid arm speed that produces a fastball that was up to 84 mph with late life, and there is still substantial velocity left in the tank. Stockbridge pairs the fastball with a slurvey, low-70s breaking ball that he can land for a strike and get swing-and-miss on & he will flash an upper-70s changeup. Stockbridge is a “pick-to-click” arm in the 2026 class and we will monitor his development closely moving forward.
