The first Class of 2015 prospect is off the board in Illinois.
Charlie Donovan, an athletic SS from Westmont HS, verbally committed to the University of Michigan recently. The 5-foot-9 Donovan is a top-level athlete who hits from the left side. He is currently ranked No. 2 in the Illinois’ Class of 2015 behind Joliet Catholic Academy RHP/C/OF Nick Dalesandro.
Donovan was a freshman standout at Westmont HS, a small school in the western Suburbs of Chicago not known for producing baseball players. Donovan is also a top-level student, which factored into his decision of Michigan, his father said.
