The Stance

*Evan White - University of Kentucky Outfielder*

The University of Kentucky busted onto the scene this year after first year coach, Nick Mingione took over the Bat Cats. Kentucky was known for crushing the baseball from the top of the lineup all the way through the bottom as they led the SEC in batting average. However, it was the Gold Glove first baseman, Evan White, who was the consistent beat throughout the year.

While White has always been known for his glove, his at bats and hitting was a constant the Cats could always count on. As Chris Burke teaches in this week’s Tip of the Week, having a slightly open stance and holding the bat somewhere between your ear and shoulder, will allow you to have both eyes on the pitcher.

While creating your own, individual stance is important, boasting a simple stance like White is one that has proven successful since the inception of baseball. To learn and see more on this tip, watch Chris Burke’s Tip of the Week below: The Stance. Join eCoachBaseball to learn more!
