How to finish the swing
The finish of the swing is a characteristic that is very rarely discussed. However, it is just as important as the other three parts of the swing, but also allows for a good deal of individuality.
Chris Burke of eCoachBaseball is a big believer of using two hands if you are a younger hitter and are still growing into your swing. Using two hands allows you to keep the strong hand going through the baseball and prevents hitters from losing their swing at impact/extension.
However, as you get older like Drew Ellis of the University of Louisville, finishing with one hand becomes more advantageous. Ellis and other college hitters, are able to create so much extension that they literally run out of room and are required to finish with one hand. With that being said, successfully finishing with one hand requires experience and strength as much as anything.
