DALLAS, TX - 2018 LHP Jonathan Childress led the Forney Jackrabbits to a 5-0 win over the Legacy Broncos in the first game of the fourth round of the Texas High School Playoffs. The Texas A&M recruit was spectacular, throwing a complete seven inning game, allowing no runs on five hits, no walks, and nine strikeouts.
Forney scored two runs in the first when Ty Bowring and Childress each drove in a run. They got two more in the second thanks in part to a Klayton Henderson double off the right-centerfield wall. The Jackrabbits collected eight total hits, led by sophomore Addison Haley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Legacy was led at the plate by Kendall Catalon at the plate, who went 2-for-3 with three quality at-bats.
