Earlier this week Prep Baseball Report Louisiana released its class of 2015 Top 50 rankings. Today we break down the rankings by college commitment, conference and position.
BY COMMITMENT
After an outstanding 2014 season, Louisiana Lafayette did some serious damage on the recruiting trail landing eight players in the Top 50 rankings, including the top two players overall in Nick Lee and Hogan Harris. Overall 18 different programs landed a player from our rankings.
8: Louisiana Lafayette
5: Southeastern Louisiana, Northwestern State
4: Louisiana State, McNeese State
3: Nicholls State, Louisiana Monroe
2: Wichita State
1: Tulane, Mississippi, Mississippi State, South Alabama, Washington, Jackson State, Texas Christian, Sothern Mississippi, Blinn CC, Northwest Florida CC
BY CONFERENCE
The conference that leads the way with the most commitments should come as no surprise. With four schools residing in the state of Louisiana, the Southland Conference routinely recruits the state of Louisiana heavily. This year is certainly no different, as 17 players from our rankings will be continuing their careers in the Southland.
17: Southland
12: Sun Belt
6: SEC
2: Missouri Valley
1: Big 12, Pac 12, American Athletic, Conference USA, Southwestern Athletic, Panhandle Conference, Region XIV Athletic
BY POSITION
If you believe the old saying, “Pitching and defense wins championships”, then it should come as no surprise that the position group leading the way would be pitchers. Exactly half of the Top 50 consists of hurlers, including 10 left-handers and 15 right-handers. However, you will find that only one player on our list is designated as a first basemen.
25: Pitcher
12: Infielder
9: Outfielder
3: Catcher
1: First baseman
Please keep an eye out as Prep Baseball Report Louisiana will begin a schedule of events once the spring season has concluded. Also, if you have not done so already, please click the link to fill out this free player profile to get your recruiting process started now.
