Prep Baseball Report-Missouri/Kansas held the Bi-State Winter Open ID Showcase on Saturday, February 20 at Prodigy Baseball Academy in Parkville, Missouri. The event featured over 50 players from the Missouri and Kansas area in the 2016 to 2019 classes.
Player's profiles have been updated with times, velos, videos and profile pictures. We will finish up the break down of the players position-by-position with a look at the Pitchers today. The pitchers were a talented group with many throwing a high number of strikes. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

Clayton Adams, RHP, Liberty (MO), 2017
Adams is a 6-foot-5 200-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2017 class from Liberty HS. On the mound, over the top release, controlled leg lift, tuck at balance point, inline stride, fastball at 77-80 mph, some with late sink, curveball at 62-63 mph, throws change up down in zone at 70-72 mph, slight arm side sink, throws with regular effort, high percentage of strikes with three pitches.
Jack Albright, RHP, Blue Valley North (KS), 2018
Albright is a 5-foot-11 174-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class from Blue Valley North HS. On the mound, delivery has quick temp, tuck at balance point, throws with some effort, hides ball well, over the top release, arm works, creates inline direction towards the plate, fastball at 78-83 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, 69-72 mph, late break, change up at 71-72 mph, fastball arm speed, arm side release.
Zane Barr, RHP, Fort Osage (MO), 2018
Barr is a 6-foot-2 187-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class from Fort Osage HS. On the mound, controlled leg lift, aggressive down the mound, throws with some effort, over the top release, downhill tilt with quick arm speed and loose arm action, fastball at 83-85 mph, cutting action, change up at 74-79 mph, throws for a strike, fastball arm speed, showed a splitter at 74-76 mph, late 11-to-5 action.
Owen Chaffin, RHP, Blue Valley Southwest (KS), 2019
Chaffin is a 5-foot-11 135-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class from Blue Valley Southwest HS. On the mound, slender from capable adding strength, showed command of three pitches, repeats release point, body stays under control during delivery, hides the ball well, fastball at 70-76 mph, works both sides of plate, curveball at 56-58 mph, 12-to-6 action, change up at 66-68 mph, fastball arm speed, down in zone.
Rod Criss, RHP, Staley (MO), 2018
Criss is a 6-foot-2 172-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class from Staley HS. On the mound, throws with regular effort and smooth rhythm, controlled leg lift, inline stride, three quarters release, strike thrower with three pitches, fastball at 80-82 mph, curveball at 73-73 mph, late 11-to-5 action, tight spin, starts on same plane as fastball, change up at 74-77 mph, near fastball arm speed, late sink.

Josh Kavanagh, LHP, Salina (KS), 2016
Kavanagh is a 6-foot-1 16-pound left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2016 class from Salina Central HS. On the mound, high three quarters, smooth rhythm and body control in delivery, in-line direction towards plate, Fastball at 70-74, late running action, breaking ball is slurve-type pitch, 1-to-7 action, 65-67 mph, controllable, change up at 64-68 mph, slight arm side sink, near fastball arm speed.
Alec Koehn, RHP, Dodge City (KS), 2016
Koehn is a 6-foot-2 195-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2016 class from Dodge City HS. On the mound, Koehn has a high three quarters release, body stays controlled throughout delivery, hands raise with leg lift, in line stride, throws downhill with regular effort, hides the ball well with some deception, fastball at 78-79 mph, slider at 71-74 mph, some depth with 10-to-4 action.

Dalton Mall, RHP, Shawnee Mission East (KS), 2018
Mall is a 6-foot-1 164-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class from Shawnee Mission East HS. On the mound, over the top release, smooth tempo, controlled leg lift, inline stride, arm accelerates as he gets down the mound, athletic finish, thows with regurlar effort, fastball at 75-80 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 shape 63-68 mph, change up down in zone at 69-72 mph.
Kyle McHale, RHP, Olathe East (KS), 2018
McHale is a 6-foot-4 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class from Olathe East HS. On the mound, fastball at 74-76 mph, some with late sink, curveball at 63-66 mph, 11-to-5 shape, change up at 64-68 mph. Melcher comes from an over the top release point, tuck at balance point, throws slightly across body with regular effort.
Grant Mertz, RHP, Park Hill (MO), 2018
Mertz is a 6-foot-2 195-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class from Park Hill HS. Nace is a 6-foot-1 195-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class from Northland Christian HS. Garrett Presko, RHP, Pembroke Hill (MO), 2018
Presko is a 6-foot-2 185-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class from Pembroke Hill HS. Chase Putnam, RHP, Park Hill South (MO), 2017
Putnam is a 6-foot-2 155-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2017 class from Park Hill South HS. Sol Rainey, RHP, Kickapoo (MO), 2019
Rainey is a 6-foot-3 167-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class from Kickapoo HS.
