SAN ANTONIO - The Alamo Heights Mules and Kerrville Tivy Antlers met up for a 26-5A district matchup at Alamo Height’s field in San Antonio on Tuesday morning. The pitching matchup featured Tivy’s 2017 Texas A&M commit, LHP Asa Lacy, and an uncommitted senior from Alamo Heights, RHP James Tyng.
The Mules fought hard against Lacy’s fastball, working deep into counts and manufacturing good swings. Senior INF Michael Kelleher had the most success against the Tivy hurler as he generated the lone RBI of the contest for Alamo Heights in the second inning.
Lacy would get the win for Kerrville Tivy after going six and one-third innings, allowing one run on three hits and one walk, while striking out nine Alamo Heights batters. Final score, Kerrville Tivy 5, Alamo Heights 1.
Following the game, Kerrville Tivy moved to a record of 12-3-1 on the year with a 2-0 record in district, while Alamo Heights now holds a 10-6 record, and move to 1-1 in district play.
