Arkansas Draft Preview
May 30, 2016
By Zak Bottoms and Nathan Rode
The 2016 Major League Draft takes place June 9-11. In advance of the draft, Prep Baseball Report is posting a summary of each state in the coverage area with scouting reports on the top high school draft prospects.
Arkansas isn’t known for sending many prospects to pro ball straight out of high school. Just 10 prep prospects have been drafted in the top 10 rounds this century and the 2016 class looks to be an order of the usual—solid players with a chance of developing into top prospects in college. LHP Evan Lee (Bryant HS, AR) will remain in state with his commitment to Arkansas, while RHP Kasey Ford (Bentonville HS, AR) and MIF Luke Bandy (Providence HS, AR) will head out of state to Kansas State and Dallas Baptist respectively.
NONE
Others To Watch: Lee has an athletic build at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds. He pitches from a high-3/4 slot with a short, quick arm action and repeatable delivery.
