The Hoover Bucs won the Buccaneer Classic in dominating fashion, beating Houston (TN) 11-1. 

        Hoover was dominant from the first pitch, as the host Bucs would go on to win the championship of the Buccaneer Classic 11-1 over the Houston High School Mustangs (Germantown, TN). The Bucs got a great start from 2021 Austin Cornelius. The lanky righty threw 5 innings (CG) and struck out 7, allowing 1 ER on 4 hits and 2 walks.

               The Bucs jumped on the Mustangs early, hanging a 4 spot in the first inning courtesy of a 2 RBI triple to LF by 2020 OF Robby Ashford. Ashford would come around to score on a sac fly from 2020 Colson Lawrence. 2020 Lawrence Hammonds also collected an RBI single in the inning.

               After the Mustangs responded with a run in the top of the 2^nd, Hoover answered with back to back RBI singles from 2021 Evan Radford and Hammonds in the bottom of the 3^rd to push the lead to 6-1.

               Hoover would blow the game open in the bottom of the 4^th, as 2019 Alabama signee Peyton Wilson singled to open the inning and stole 2 bases. He and 2019 Trey Harry would come in to score on a double off the CF wall from 2019 Daniel Swatek. Radford delivered an RBI double and Hammonds added another single before a balk brought in the 11^th run of the game for the Bucs.
