4A Final 8 Roundup

The weather cleared up and the snow melted and we had baseball. The $A final 8 got under way yesterday from All-Star Park and Bishop Machebeuf High School, here is a look at action from both sites.
4A Final 8 Roundup:
10:00 Games
Silver Creek 16 Thomas Jefferson 9
The Raptors got the first round win over the Spartans and were led by George Ramirez who was 3-5 with 3 runs and 3 RBI and Cole Winn who went 3-4 with 2 runs and 4 RBI.
Evergreen 1 Air Academy 0
The Cougars get it done with great pitching and timely defense. Ben Muscatello went all 7 innings giving up 2 hits, 0 runs and struck out 8.
12:30 Games
Thompson Valley 9 Golden 8
This 8 inning game was not much of a game through 5 innings. Thompson Valley jumped out to a 4-0 lead and extended it to 6-0 headed to the bottom of the 6th. Golden then put 7 runs across in the 6th to make it a game. The Eagles prevail in 8 innings and were led by Matt Berg who was 1-2 with 1 run and 1 RBI. Golden was led by Pablo Simon who was 1-2 with 1 run and 1 RBI.
Valor Christian 2 Pueblo West 1
In a game that matched up to premier pitchers in 4A, Valor came away with the first round victory. Luke Ziegelr took the mound for Valor and went 6.2 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 run and struck out 11. RJ Dabovich went the distance for the Cyclones, 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, 2 runs and struck out 10.

Valor Christian 6 Silver Creek 3
In a game that once again saw two premier pitcher match up, it was Valor who gained control early and kept the pedal down for the victory. Jonathon Boulaphinh led the way offensively for the Eagles going 1-3 with 1 run and 2 RBI. Josh Danyliw took the mound for Valor going 6 innings scattering 6 hits allowing 3 runs and struck out 5.
