After a week filled with anxiety about the forecast in the St. Louis area, the sun came out and some great baseball was played. Some of the top 14U teams from Missouri and Kansas met up in St. Charles, MO this past weekend. The tournament was hosted by Gateway Dream Fields. Games were also played at C&H Ballpark and Old Towne. Players from Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, and Illinois were on display as PBR was there to cover the bases.
Each team had 2 pool games to decide the Gold and Silver brackets. Sunday was single elimination bracket play. The final four of the Gold Bracket ended up with the top 2 teams in Kansas (Building Champions White v Building Champions Navy) and the top 2 teams in Missouri (Five Four Scouts v Midwest Prospects Scout Team). The Midwest Prospects Scout Team got solid pitching and timely hitting to beat Building Champions Navy for the Championship.
One highlight of the weekend happened prior to the second semi-final game on Sunday. Building Champions White and Building Champions Navy got together and ran a full college style pre-game infield/outfield.
