2023 PBR All-American Game, Spotlight: Jack DeTienne
August 30, 2023
On Saturday, Sept. 23, Prep Baseball Report is hosting its inaugural High School All-American Game at American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. The unique event will feature the nation’s top high school seniors who are set to battle against a roster of the country’s best juniors in Class of 2024 vs. Class of 2025 action, giving pro scouts a unique look at current and future draft classes.
We’ve begun to unveil the event’s participants on our social media channels, and we’ll spotlight those players more closely on our site, too, highlighting past performances and scouting reports from the live looks we’ve gathered on this gifted group throughout the years.
Next we are highlighting Jack DeTienne, a Xavier commit and the top-ranked pitcher in Wisconsin's senior class. The 2022 PBR Future Gamer hosts a lean and athletic frame with ample room to continue adding mass. DeTienne has elite arm speed, running the fastball up to 96 mph and comfortably sitting in the low-to-mid 90s. Following a breakout year, he skyrocketed into the top-75 in our latest national rankings update and will attend the PBR All-American Game in his home state.
Following his electric outing at Area Codes, PBR's VP of Scouting Shooter Hunt had this to say about DeTienne: "An unknown, uncommitted, underclassman a year ago at the PBR Future Games, DeTienne’s astronomical rise late in the summer had him looking like the “cold-weather William Schmidt”. Loose with an arm stroke that is quick out front, the Xavier recruit worked up to 96 mph, and appears to have more in the tank. Similar to Schmidt, the wiry, 6-foot-3, 170-pounder enjoys the luxury of having a swing-and-miss, top-to-bottom curveball that is likely a plus-offering. Ultra competitive, the rise only appears to be getting started for the Wisconsin native."
