The Road to the California State Games begins with the 2022 California high school baseball season. With the season just around the corner, our Staff has begun putting out team previews from all around the state getting you prepare for another year of exciting coverage.

Today we focus on the Simi Valley Pioneers who are returning key contributors from last year's team along with a lot of athleticism where they hope to make a run at a league title and a deep playoff run.

Shane Alderete, LHP, 2022, 5'8" 150, 1st Team all league, 58ks in 57.7 innings, 1.09 ERA.  

Andrew Nykoluk, SS, 2022, 5'11" 165, R/R, Stellar defensive infielder who has power to both sides of the field.   

Top 23s

Ethan Pena 3B/2B, 6'3" 165, R/R.  In 20 games last year hit 385, with 6 doubles, 3 HRs, 15 RBI, and 17 runs scored. 

Aiden Nykoluk, OF/RHP, 6'0 170, R/R. Incredibly athletic outfielder with a plus arm in the outfield and on the mound.  

Ethan Walgren OF, 6'2, 160 R/R. Great outfield defender, hits to all fields well, and just grinds out at bats.
