2022 Rankings story

The PBR Missouri 2022 Class Rankings have been updated after a baseball packed summer. Through loaded events and talent rich tournaments at our new Creekside facility and Lakepoint where many Missouri teams traveled to compete, we were able to get our eyes on more prospects more times than ever before. Check out the top prospects, risers, newcomers, and fully expanded rankings, below.
Note* Rankings will be updated again in December to better reflect the players we have seen this fall as we finish out the season.
The Top
Jack Mosh SS / St. Pius X, MO / 2022The left handed hitting Mosh continued to hit at a high level this summer and consistently puts together quality AB's. Defensively, Mosh plays a strong left-side of the infield currently, but his tools may play highest as a super offensive second baseman at the next level. Commitment: Missouri |
Jake McCutcheon SS / Francis Howell, MO / 2022The smooth shortstop showed he can impact the game on both side of the ball. A plus defender with arm strength to stay at SS he also demonstrated his all around game with a good feel for the barrel and gap power. Commitment: Missouri State |
Bryson Gooding LHP / Raymore-Peculiar, MO / 2022A 6-foot-2, 175-pound upside left-hander with a fastball in the upper 80's at times who is showing no signs of slowing down. When on, Gooding dominated quality line-ups this summer. Commitment: Michigan |
The New Comers
The summer of 2020 saw a flood of new talent make a name for themselves. These three below led the way with some impressive performances, jumping into the top 15.
Grant Richars SS / St. Dominic , MO / 2022The states top ranked 2 way prospect showed well at the Futures Games this summer. A high level athletic defender at SS with a plus arm and ability to make throws from multiple arm angles. Richars posses big upside on the mound currently sitting 87-89 with plenty of life. Karson Milbrandt RHP / Liberty, MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 1
The lanky RHP has plus life/movement on his upper 80's fastball, and has reportedly climbed as high as 90. Pitching most off his fastball and has the ability to get swing and misses and weak contact due in part to his uniquie low slot. Commitment: Missouri |
Aiden Heberlie OF / Valle Catholic, MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 3
Perhaps the player with the best tool set in the state. The 6-foot-3 athletic bodied Heberlie had a couple of loud workouts this summer showcasing a 6.55 60, 95 mph exit vlo and throwing 87 mph from the OF. Commitment: Missouri |
The Risers
As with every season that goes by, many players take major leaps physically and developmentally. Below are some of the biggest risers since our last rankings.
Jordan Austin OF / Blue Springs South , MO / 2022A speedy outfielder with lots of fast twitch actions. The left handed hitter has the ability to impact the game in multiple ways offensively with his bat and legs. Commitment: Missouri |
Mason Breidenbach SS / Marquette, MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 5
Established himself as one of the top bats in the Missouri '22 class. The infielder showcased well and performed well during the Future Games, showcasing a 98 mph exit vlo and also hammering one of the more impressive home runs at the event. Uncommitted |
JEREMY SHEFFIELD OF / WESTMINSTER, MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 29 / POS: 7
The 6-foot-3, 173-pound OF/INF has taken a major leap the past half year, showcasing this past winter and again at the MO Fall Underclass games the development during time period was staggering. Having major gains in all areas of his game running, throwing (inf vlo 76 to 80), exit vlo (81 to 91) while also showing well in games.
