The beginning of 2022 meant it was time for the Prep Baseball Report Scout Days to come into full action and that was the case once again this year.

Organizations throughout Ohio have been on display for nearly two months now as players not only hope to gain more exposure in their quest to be seen by college coaches, but also get a glimpse at their numbers to see what kind of progress has been made in the offseason.

Members of organizations in the state, from head coaches to director of player development, have been contacted and given the opportunity to provide a view of what stood out at their PBR Scout Days.

Over the next few weeks, PBR will publish a report on each of the Scout Days that have been submitted from organizations across Ohio.

2022 Organizational Spotlight: NWO Elite

Kevin Weber talks with us about the organization.

1) How do you feel the showcase went?
Weber: I thought the showcase went really well!

2) Who are some of the prospects that stood out to you and any performances worth mentioning?
Weber: The prospects that stood out to me were:

• Lukas Potkanowicz 15U - Playing up, was 13-years-old at the time of the event. Superior talented athlete with huge upside for colleges.
• Connor Kessinger 15U - Very versatile player, can pitch, catch, middle infield, fast, and can hit.
• Quinn Weber 16U - Very young, not even 16 until June 24, great framing and blocking defensively at the plate, good footwork, pop times just over 2, strong arm, great bat, led freshman team with 29 hits.
• Parker Faris 16U - 6-3 pitcher locates fastball, very good changeup, really nice offspeed breaking ball, downhill pitcher, brother pitched for Seton Hill, his dad and brother are 6-6.
• Mitch Harder 17U - (Tall, down hill strike thrower with really good offspeed stuff, plays the outfield really well, too.
• Drew Pfundt 17U - 6-4 and throws hard, has four pitches and has great control of three of the four, hits left-handed and has a ton of power, has a ton of upside.
• Brock Hastings 17U - Really good foot and hand work at SS, covers a lot of ground and in the gaps, strong and accurate arm, very versatile.
• Braden Vineyard 17U - (6-5 and throws hard with good command, really good off speed/curve ball, has a really nice slider as well.

3) In looking at summer, touch on some highlights that are ahead and what you expect and are you registered for any PBR tournaments. If so, which ones and what are your thoughts on them?
Weber: North West Ohio Elite (NWO Elite) will be playing in Multiple PBR tournaments this summer. We have a very aggressive schedule and are happy to be playing against the best talent we can at some very nice venues.

• June 9-12: We have all three NWO Elite teams playing in the PBR Glass City Classic
• June 16-19 - We are playing in the 15U Summer Classic Cincinnati Flames PBR scouted, 16U and 17U UC/Miami Showcase 1 PBR scouted
• June 23-26 - We have all three teams playing in the Great Black Swamp tournament
• July 7-10 - We have all three teams playing in the Buckeye Elite Showcase
• July 14-17 - We have all three NWO Elite teams playing in the PBR Underclassmen Limited Series
• July 21-24 - We have all three teams at Butler University and Indianapolis University

I feel like we have three very competitive teams that should do well in these tournaments. It will be challenging for sure but we are looking forward to a great summer!
