2022 Junior Future Games: Team Carolina (NC) Game 3 Recap

The 2022 Junior Future Games are underway at LakePoint in Emerson, GA featuring some of the top 2026 and 2027 prospects from across the country. Team Carolina kicked off their Junior Future Games with a workout on Tuesday. The workout day consisted of a full pro-style workout with players taking BP on the field with Trackman capturing ball flight data, a defensive workout, and players running a laser timed 60. Team Carolina will take on Texas, Canada, and Mississippi in their pool play action with bracket play to follow. 

GAME 3 RECAP

Team Carolina- 6  Team Mississippi- 9

Team Carolina took on Team Mississippi in their final pool play game. Team Carolina put together its best overall performance of the tournament. Eli Beekley got the bats going in the 3rd inning with a double off the right center wall. Carolina would score runs on a Wyatt Lytle sac fly, a Stephen Crater double, and a Noah Price double. Team Carolina battled throughout and was within striking distance when the game ended due to time limit. Payton Webb, Michael Woodard and Stephen Crater combined on the mound keeping Team Carolina in position to take the lead. Carolina will begin bracket play on Saturday night.


Player Notes

Eli Beekley, C, 2026

5-foot-11, 180-pound build. Left hand hitter. Smoked balls to his pull side in both of his at bats. Doubled off the wall in right center and laced a line drive right at the second basemen. Exit velocities above 95 mph. Doubled off the wall in right center and laced a line drive right at the second basemen. Balanced in the box, fluid swing, barrel gets length through the front of the hitting zone. 

Stephen Crater, 3B/RHP, 2026

6-foot-1, 170-pound build. The left hand hitter stayed through a ball down in the zone and lined it to the left center gap for a double. Simple setup with little movement in the load, hits with a sturdy base, has feel for the barrel. Pitched in relief after playing multiple positions on defense. Attacks the zone, fastball up to 79 mph. 

Wyatt Lytle, C, 2026

6-foot, 170-pound build. Has put together quality at bats throughout the 3 pool play games. Barreled a ball to center for a sac fly and barreled another ball to the left center gap. Aggressive at the plate, balanced swing with strength in his hands and some lift to the swing path. 

Meridian Leffew, SS/2B, 2026

6-foot, 160-pound build. Lined a ball to left and barreled another ball to the third baseman. Continues to show an aggressive approach with quick hands. Tracked down a fly down the left field line while playing third. Has shown versatility and comfort playing multiple positions throughout the event.
