Team Summary
Coach Parker has seen success over the years at Ouachita Christian School by regularly reaching the state tournament and winning the 2A Title in 2019. The Eagles were unable to defend their title in 2020 and are motivated to finally get a chance to do so this spring. Kade Woods has been on everyone's radar for a long time, as he committed to the University of Alabama during his freshman year. The RHP who has been up to 95 mph will lead, what is shaping out to be, a very talented pitching staff. During the 2019 season, Woods logged 26.1 innings, fanned 41 batters, posted a 3.46 ERA, and his success continued in 2020 as he posted a 3-0 record to go along with a 1.82 ERA. Another veteran in the staff this season is Sr. Jon Michael Cader, who has been in the rotation since his freshman year. Offensively, Woods, Cader, and Harris will hit in the middle of the order of the Eagles. Sr. Connor Mulhern may the best overall player in the lineup this spring and will hit anywhere from the 2-5 spot in the order. Mulhern is a three year starter who plays exceptional defense, can hit for average, and hit for power. Soph. Landen Graves will use his speed to man the OF for Ouachita Christian and will be the leadoff hitter. Jr. Barham White provides the club with stability behind the plate, as he is an excellent receiver who knows how to handle a veteran staff. The Eagles also have an exciting young catching prospect in Fr. Zach White. White will see time both behind the dish and in the infield this season and Coach Parker believes that he has the tools, ability, and mindset to play at the Division 1 level in college. Pitching is always key to making a championship run and the Eagles look to have not only a talented staff, but an experienced staff. When the playoffs hit, we like the chances of this club to make serious noise, as they have the experienced arms to go toe to toe just about in anyone in Class 2A.
