We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ontario's 2021 Oshawa Scout Day. This was a great opportunity for 2022-2025 prospects to be identified before season, create and update their profiles, as well see where they stack up with their peers. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase and below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.

2021 Oshawa Scout Day - Quick Hits

Michael Quick
Report: 2022 C/SS Michael Quick was easily the biggest positional standout on the day with his tools and feel for the game. He has good metrics across the board, including a Scout Day best, 6.90 60-yard dash on a tough track. Defensively, his game plays behind the dish and at shortstop, although his athleticism could see him play other positions on the field. At the plate he’s a gap-to-gap hitter from the left-side where he showed strength to all fields. Quick would be a great late addition for college’s still looking for impact 2022s. 

Ethan Price
Report: 2022 Ethan Price was the standout on the bump and the high school senior really took a jump from last year’s Scout Day. He sat 84-86 on the mound along with a curveball at 72-74 with downward action. The arm is loose, quick and there’s life on the fastball with above-average spin-rates. Price also worked up to 90 mph from the outfield and ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. There’s still lots of room for Price to get stronger and continue developing on an already exciting toolset on the mound.

Cody Hagerman
Report: 2022 Cody Hagerman was another senior to show well on Sunday with his combination of strength and speed. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound outfielder moves very well for his size, running a 7.01 on a tough, wet track and had the top exit velocity of 97 mph. The right-handed hitter had one of the loudest rounds of BP with a lot of hard contact and power to the pull side. The arm and speed play in the outfield where his arm got up to 81 mph. Another uncommitted senior from the Legionaires program who is worth a look from college coaches.

Wilson Michel
Report: 2024 Wilson Michel was one of the underclassmen to make his presence known on Sunday. Michel is still just 5-foot-10, 140-pounds so there’s lots of room for him to grow and develop. The bat stood out from the right-side with a lot of barrels and some power to the pull side. His exit velocity of 84 mph was second best among 2023s and older while his line drive percentage of 75 % was tops on the day. A lot to work with from Michel and it will be interesting to see where his game is at when next year’s Scout Day rolls around.

Preston Vieira
Report: 2024 Preston Vieira was easily one of the most intriguing underclassmen saw in Oshawa where he really stood out at the dish. There’s quick twitch and a smooth, balanced swing from the right-side. His swing worked mostly up the middle and to the pull side with an exit velocity of 89, tied for third-best on the day. Defensively, he was best behind the dish where he had a pop-time of 2.15 and clocked in at 75 mph. The upside in his offensive game but his defensive side has come along well since last fall. He will be one to follow in the program going forward.

Recent News:
