OUTLOOK:
Coming off a second place finish in the Northern Section D2 playoffs (loss to Pleasant Valley 12-2), the Spartans are bringing back an awful lot of talent, both position players and pitchers. At RBHS the expectations are to compete for a section title every year and this upcoming season is no different. Among expected strengths will be their defensive play in the outfield, which will allow pitchers to be confident in attacking the strike zone. They should have good team speed to go with experienced hitters and plenty of competitiveness spread all throughout the roster. Led by the Tweedt twins, both of whom are D1 talents, the offense will be one of the best in the section. The pitching staff should be deeper and more consistent than last season, when finishing hitters in two strike counts was somewhat of a struggle. The returning experience on the staff should help them get over that hump. The Spartans enter 2020 as a good bet for a deep section run.
