2019 Updated Rankings

The past two weeks we have released the 2017 updated rankings, the 2018 updated rankings and this week we move forward and have updated our 2019 rankings. The longer we have to evaluate, the larger amount of data we compile along with more players physically mature and begin to show us who they are and a how projectable they may or may not be.
Our rankings are a good mix of in event, on field production, and projection. Our staff has worked very hard over the last few months to gather as much information as possible on the 2019 class. We have added 25 players to the rankings, getting our complete list to 75 players.
At the Top
2019 RHP/OF Blake Adams remains at the No.1 slot. The physical two way player is committed to Arkansas. The game has yet to determine if Adams is a pitcher or a position player and it may not for some time to come. On the mound he has big time arm strength locating his fastball consistently 86-88 mph and has shown the ability to work up into the low 90’s. As he has developed his feel for his secondary pitches has increased. Offensively he attacks the baseball with great intent and fast bat speed, consistently showing raw power to the pull side. He is a sound defender making instinctive reads on balls in the air. Overall Adams is a premiere player not only in the state of Arkansas but in the country.
Top 10
The top 10 remains pretty much intact with 8 of the top 10 names remaining the same. The two new additions to the top 10 are No. 5 RHP Zane Neves from Jonesboro High School. The projectable right-hander has separated himself from other similar arms. His on-field production has been rewarded as he has picked up at least one NCAA Division I scholarship offer. The other addition to the top 10 is at No. 8 C William Poppy from Sylvan Hills High School. Poppy impressed over the winter throwing pop times sub 2.0 defensively. He also swung the bat with a combination of physical strength and bat speed.
