Scouting Report
7.18.17: Alheit is 6-0 tall with a lanky frame. Hits from the left side from an open athletic stance. Short leg kick stride on line, smooth load back to a slight wrap. Explosive lower half, good balance to swing. Quick to ball, works slightly uphill, line drive hitter slight pull tendency, exit velocity was 79. In the outfield, clean feet, gets behind ball, fields with soft hands and plays through to a quick clean exchange. Short arm action from high three-quarters arm slot, outfield velocity was 79. Home to first was 3.89 on a bunt. On the mound, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Longer free arm action and normal effort. Shoulders uphill and on line, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 70-72, touching 74, with some angle and a bit of late run. Curveball had sharp 1/7 break at 63-65 with some armspeed. Change-up had sink and some armspeed, running 65-68. Showed some pitchability.
