Ontario Insider: 2018 Future Game Trials - Five Standouts
Benjamin Adams LHP / OF / Longfields-Davidson Heights, ON / 2020Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 2
Team: Ottawa Nepean Canadians Report: Adams was one of the standout performers at the trials, displaying advanced abilities on the mound and at the plate. The 2020 grad has had a very good start to his season and it was on full display in Kitchener. Batting from the right side, he possesses a balanced swing with quick hands and good timing. He consistently finds the barrel and power should emerge with added strength. He displayed a strong arm during outfield reps with a quick release and good zip on his throws that were mostly on target. On the mound, the lefthander displayed a compact delivery with good extension and leverage. The arm action was above average without any stress points and most pitches were around the zone. The fastball hit 86 mph with some natural movement. The curveball was 70-72 mph with some late bite. It is a potential strikeout pitch with projectable spin. Adams has quickly emerged as one of the best players in 2020 class and has a very high ceiling. |
