preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

Season Outlook
The Smithville Warriors will return four position players and three starters from their team that was 17-10 last season, tied for a conference championship.  The Warriors enter this spring ranked number eight in Class 4, but will play a schedule mostly made of Class 5 teams.  They will be battle tested and experience once district play rolls around.  Seniors Kyle Heckenbach (Missouri Western) and Logan Brown (Missouri Southern) will lead a long list of pitchers with great potential.  Junior OF Bobby Orr could have a break out season after backing up his three-time All-Conference brother a season ago. Look for 2016 All-Conference junior infielder, Karsen Reid, have another successful season and have a big impact on the teams success in 2017.  Smithville will be well rounded this spring and will be a contender for the Class 4 state title.
