2017 Spring Team Preview: Parkway Panthers

With the 2017 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.
Starting in Mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2017 Spring Team Preview: Parkway Panthers
Team Name: Parkway
Head Coach: Luke Clouse
Division: IV
2016 Record: 12-10
Conference Record: MAC
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/3
2017 Team Strengths:
- Pitching
2017 Team Weaknesses:
- They are still looking to fill a couple of spots
Coach Outlook: "We have our core coming back this season. We did have a few key loses, but have some very talented young guys to fill in for them. After a successful summer, we are looking for great things this year."
PBR Outlook: The Parkway Panthers and head coach Luke Clouse have high expectations in 2017 with the return of a core of their squad. Playing in the MAC will have Parkway competing against the best each night. Look for the Panthers to be playing their best ball come tournament time.
Top Returning Players:
- Alec Schoenleben, OF, SR, 5'9, 155, R/L. .323, 18 RBIs, 15 R and 14 SB.
- Carson Ford, 1st/3rd/P, SR, 6'1, 230 R/R. .246 with 4 2B's, and 2 HR's and 17 RBIs. On the mound he recorded 38.2 IP with an ERA of 2.17, 20 K's and 16 BB's.
- Clayton Agler, SS/P, JR, 5'9 140, R/R. Smooth fielder, great hands and feet. .292, 17 runs, 4 2B's, 7 RBI's, 7 SB's.
- Shay Pond, C, SR, 5'7, 145 R/R. Extremely hard worker behind the plate, 10 RBIs on the season.
- Trace Walls, OF/P, L/L. 27.1 IP, Whip 1.500, ERA 2.561, 28 K's, 12 BB's
- Logan Huff, 1B/OF/P, 6'2, 210 R/R. Looking for good things this year as a junior. Last year he scored 12 runs, had 6 doubles and 12 RBIs. on the mound we used him in the closer role pitched 7 innings and only gave up one run.
