2017 Spring Team Preview: Bryan Golden Bears
Team Name: Bryan Golden Bears
Head Coach: Jeff Inselmann
Division: II
2016 Record: 17-6
Conference Record: NWOAL, 7-1
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/5
2017 Team Strengths:
- Starting Pitching
- Defense
2017 Team Weaknesses:
- Scoring runs
- Middle of the order run producers
Coach Outlook: "After coming off a 17-6 season, the 2017 Bryan High School baseball team has the potential to compete for the NWOAL title and contend in the Division 2 state tournament because of it's talented pitching staff. Leading the pitching staff will be seniors Christian Pool (LHP), Bleus Creek (RHP), and Sam Culler (LHP) as well as talented junior Ethan Langham (RHP). The Golden Bears defense should be strong up the middle, but they must replace it's top 3 hitters from last years squad including All-Ohio INF Deylen Miley."
PBR Outlook: When thinking of the Bryan Golden Bears, you think of baseball tradition. A perennial power in the state, the Golden Bears look to once again reload in 2017 after a solid 17-6 campaign in 2016. With the tradition, the staple of arms, the mix of upper and lower class, look for Bryan to continue to compete with the best in the state.
