With the 2017 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting in Mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2017 Spring Team Preview: Anna Rockets

Team Name: Anna Rockets
Head Coach: Kristian Althauser
Division: III
2016 Record: 25-4
Conference Record: Shelby County League, 11-1
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/4

2017 Team Strengths:

  • We have all five guys in the infield returning from a Regional Final Team.
  • We have about 8 guys that have logged a lot of innings on the mound and at bats in the last two seasons.

2017 Team Weaknesses:

  • We lost a Sr. class that produced the most wins in school history for their 4 year career.
  • We lost 16 HRs and 100+ RBIs from the Sr. class.
  • We lost a two time All-State players.

Coach Outlook: "This team has the ability to win 20+ games again this season, contend for league title, and district title."

PBR Outlook: The Anna Rockets and head coach Kristian Althauser have been a perennial power in Division III over the past few seasons, but have been unable to get over the top come tournament time. Will 2017 be the year for the Rockets? They have the talent to do so.

  • Mitchell Lindsay (5'11" 175 RHP, 2017) (6-1, 1.58 ERA, 40 INN, Whip 1.08, 32 K)

Derek CoverstoneTop Underclassmen:

  •  Derek Coverstone (5'10" 165 INF/OF 2018, R/S 2 year starter) (.275 AVG, 25 hits, 23 BB, 23 RBI, 31 R, 15 SB)
  • Zach White (5'11" 190 C 2018, R/R 2 year starter) ( has thrown out 45% of base stealers)
  • Seth Roe (RHP 6'4", 220, 2019, 1 year starter) (3-1, 3.25 ERA, 28 INN, 24 Ks)
