2017 Prospect Review: #3 Jaden Hill
December 29, 2017
As the calendar turns to December, I want to review the top prospects from the 2017. These players have separated themselves as top prospect, with the potential at some point in their career to become professional prospects, if they are not already.
#3 Jaden Hill RHP Ashdown HS
Hill exploded on to the scene as a sophomore, recovery from a wrist injury late in Ashdown’s season. He came back stronger than ever displaying elite arm strength and a massive frame. He has continued to develop on the mound is now considered one of the Nation’s Elite MLB Baseball Prospects.
This spring will be a huge factor in determining how high he will go in the draft, after the monster summer he had being selected as an Under Armor All-American and drawing interest from MLB scouts everywhere he pitched. This spring scouts will be looking to see if he can maintain arm strength and show pitch ability with his secondary pitches on a consistent basis. If he can do that he may be a top 5 round draft selection June 2018.

Scouting Report
5.23.17 All State Game
Hill is a 6-foot-5 210-pound right-hander with a large frame and a physical build. He pitched 88-90 mph from a H ¾ arm slot with a short arm action. He threw a change up and slider. His slider was thrown 78-79 mph with 10/4 shape and early break. The change up was thrown 75-76 mph with near fastball arm speed and slight arm side run. He uses a measured delivery that is repeated consistently. He has a distinct balance point and finish square to the plate upright. Overall Hill is very physical with a quick arm, his upside is tremendous as he continues to learn how to pitch.
