2017 MLB Draft: Texas High School Players

With the conclusion of the 2017 MLB amateur draft, we wanted to take a look back at all the Texas players who heard their name called.

Our scouting staff from a state and national perspective have followed many of these players, not only throughout their high school career, but during the summer and fall months as well. By continuous coverage through reports, video analysis, events, and more, we’ve been able to gather as much information on these players as possible. This included Draft Spotlights on multiple Texas high school players along with the PBR Draft 100, which provided continual updates on high school players nationwide.

A total of 1,215 selections were made this year, 771 of the players selected were from 4-year schools, 312 were high school players, and 130 picks were Junior College Players. Texas came in third with 123 players drafted, right behind Florida with 123, and California with 192.
