We at Prep Baseball Report would like to congratulate two young men who have recently committed to Division I schools. 2017 LHP/1B Bryce Hulett committed to the University of South Carolina and 2016 LHP/OF Rigsby Mosley committed to Troy University. Hulett attends Lake Wales High School and Mosley attends Bishop Moore while both play for FTB (Hulett plays for Max Bats and Mosley plays for Tucci). Bryce attended our Top Prospect Games last month and we have seen Rigsby play dozens of times over the past year.
Bryce Hulett LHP/1B, Lake Wales HS 2017
Hulett is a 6-foot-2, 165 pounds lefty with a loose, athletic, and projectable body. He is a very good athlete who also looks good at 1B with a pretty left handed swing. On the mound, Bryce has a loose, easy working arm at a high ¾ slot with good rhythm and takes it back in line and lands in line to home. His fast ball has deception at 84-85 mph with tailing action and his curve ball is a bit inconsistent but occasionally has ¾ as well as a downward rotation at 70-71 mph. Bryce drops his slot to throw the change up but has good arm speed with same tailing action as fast ball at 78-79 mph. Hulett’s stuff is good when he stays in line and through everything, finishing out front. South Carolina appears to have gotten a solid lefty who may be able to help on the offensive side as well.
Rigsby Mosley LHP/OF, Bishop Moore 2016
Mosley stands at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds and is a legit two way guy throwing off the mound from the left side and having an advanced approach at the plate. He has a tall, skinny, and projectable body. At the plate he possesses a loose, quick bat with leverage and a flat swing plane. Mosley’s bat stays through the zone well and his swing has some quickness and future strength. He also gets good extension and shows occasional power. His 7.02 60 shows has an average runner but his jumps in the outfield make him appear quicker. On the mound he has a loose arm at a high ¾ slot and he lands in line. His fast ball sits 83-86 mph but he can run it up to 87-88 mph with some tail. Rigsby’s change up is 75-78 mph with some fade and his curve ball is 70 mph with a ¾ break. Troy is getting an outstanding player and student that will help them on the mound and offensively.
