The 2015 high school season is just around the corner.  Leading up to the start of the season we are going to take a quick glance at many teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK

Head Coach Jason Dorhorst brings back an experienced Cherokees squad this spring with seven starters and five pitchers returning.  The Cherokees are loaded with Juniors expected to contribute.  Jake Koselke, a 6-foot-2, 185 pound left-handed hitter returns after hitting a stellar .423 with 23 RBI last season as a sophomore.  DH/catcher Connor Martin should be a big contributor offensively this spring after hitting .333 with 2 HR and 23 RBI last year.  Jacob Hernandez will be relied upon both at the plate and on the mound. Hernandez finished his sophomore campaign with a 3-2 record while posting a 2.51 ERA and a .297 BA. Nick Conner returns to the Cherokees and should also help out both on the mound and offensively after hitting .368 with 26 runs and totaling three wins on the mound.  Looking to break into the starting lineup as a freshman is Colin Mack.  Dorhorst and his 2015 Cherokees are expected to compete for a sectional crown this spring.
