OUTLOOK
The Angola Hornets are coming off two consecutive 20 win seasons. Last year the Hornets won the NECC regular season conference championship going undefeated at 10-0. This spring they not only come in losing nine seniors off last year's squad, but will also be without long time Head Coach Jerry McDermid who recently retired. Taking of the helm is Roger Roddy. Roddy's team enters the 2015 season with four position players and five pitchers returning from last year's 21-8 team. Leading the way is Junior Jake Roddy, a two-year starter. Roddy, a 6-foot-1, 190 pound RHP/C, hit .333 last season. Senior Nick Chao, a three-year starter for the Hornets, returns for his final season after hitting .355 last season. Other Juniors Roddy will count on this spring include; C/RHP/3B Hunter Stultz (.364 BA), OF Parker Graber and RHP/1B/OF Ben Atha. Atha is in the running to become the Hornets number one pitcher this spring. Senior RHP/SS Craig Nofziger is also expected to be a big contributor this spring. The Hornets may have lost nine seniors, but they do return several talented players that should keep them competitive throughout the year.
