Addison Rospert, IF/RHP, Port Clinton, Class of 2013

Every summer, people from across the Midwest descend upon Port Clinton, a destination spot located on Lake Erie.

Junior Addison Rospert is hoping to give people another reason to pay the area a visit.

Recently, the junior attended the Pre-Season Underclass Showcase in Dayton.

His scout report from the event notes:

5-foot-11,165-pound prospect with thin, athletic build. He shows fluid foot-work and smooth actions in the field while reaching a top velocity of 82 mph from a high ¾ arm slot. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts with a slightly open stance. He uses a smooth load and shows good balance. He takes a short, slightly uphill path to the ball while generating above average bat speed (86 mph exit velocity off the tee). Definite follow with D1 athleticism.

Reflecting on his skill set, Rospert said, “My best physical tools are speed/quickness, bat speed, and arm strength. All of which I'm committed to further improvement.”

He hopes to maximize the use of his tools this spring with Port Clinton.

“Our team has an ultimate goal of winning a conference championship.  I hope to do whatever I can to contribute to my team to achieve the Sandusky Bay Conference title.”

In order to achieve those goals, Rospert stated, “Defensively, Port Clinton needs to have solid pitching performances and make the routine defensive plays.  Offensively, we will need to execute small ball especially with the new BBCOR bats and improve our base running aggressiveness.” 

As an upper classmen, he understands his role as a leader on and off the field.

“I plan to lead by example, encourage others to perform at the top of their abilities, and set the example for future Port Clinton baseball players.”

Rospert, who is also a talented quarterback, is being recruited by several schools for football, such as Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania.

This summer, Rospert will be playing for the Sandusky Post 83 Senior Legion.

He will be attending the PBR Top Prospect Showcase on June 4^th and 5^th at Prasco Park.
