The 3rd annual Centennial State Games will be taking place over two weekends. June 1-4 featured the 18U and 17U divisions of the games. There were 74 teams participating in the opening weekend of the Centennial State Games spread all over the Front Range from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs. The top 8 teams moved to Metro State on Saturday to play in the Quarterfinals and the Semi Finals and Finals were held Sunday.

This was a pitchers duel for most of the game with teams trading ground balls and strikeouts. For Slammers Bauer, Jonah Jenkins went 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run and striking out 8. Chris Mazzini went for Slammers Loseke throwing 3.2 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs and struck out 4. Tyson Hays was 1-2 with a double for Slammers Bauer.
Cherry Creek 8 Premier West 0
Cherry Creek records it’s second run rule shutout of the bracket play round and were led by the arm of Quientin Parr who threw a not hitter in this semi final game. He went 5 innings allowing 0 hits, 0 runs and struck out 7. Tanner O’Tremba provided offensive spark going 1-2 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.

Slammers Bauer 10 Cherry Creek 1
In a game that was closer then the final score indicates, both teams we playing each other tight until the 5th innings when Slammers Bauer put up 8 runs. Slammers Bauer finished the game with 12 hits including doubles by Tyson Hays and Jordan Stubbings who also collected 2 RBI each, Jack Winkler went 2-2 with 3 runs scored, Chase Anderson added a 2-3 day and RJ Dabovich threw 5 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 run and struck out 4 in the victory. Cherry Creek was led by Andrew Chavez who went, 1-1 with 1 RBI and a walk and Cole Blatchford, Tanner O’Tremba and Zach Pashcke added 1 hit each.
