This was one of the first articles of 2018, posted on January 4. The Indians had an successful spring, finishing with a 24-5 record, and finishing #6 in the Final MSBCA Rankings in June. Holt landed two players on the All-State team LHP Cody Hacker (2018) and C Nick Wilke, (2018). Hacker was a 15th round selection by the Orioles in the MLB June Draft.

Season Outlook
The Indians at 43-15 over the past two season and look to advance further in the playoffs in 2018. Pitching will be a key factor for Holt in 2018 as Cody Hacker, Nick Schmidt and Jacob Thompson enter their third year at the varsity level. Braedon Mathys will factor in as a starter on the mound and at first base. Offensively, the Indians will feature UT-Martin commit, Hayden Cooper, a 6-foot-3 185-pound shortstop/third baseman. Drew Law and Matt Hart will factor in as starters and physical catcher, Nick Wilke, will look to improve offensive numbers. The Indians have the makings of making a run in he state playoffs.
