10 run 6th secures W for Chiles over Fleming Island

Fleming Island, FL - Fleming Island played host to Chiles on a 70 degree Tuesday night. The game featured three 2022 MLB Draft Prospects with Isaac Williams of Fleming Island going against Chris Stanfield and Jaxson West of Chiles. 

Stanfield led off the game with a purpose, smoking a rising line drive in the right-center field gap off of Williams's low 90s fastball collecting an easy triple. West would ground out to shortstop for an RBI, bringing in the first run of the game for Chiles. Grant Gallagher and Andy Thies would later both hit line-drive singles in the inning, Thies picking up an RBI to make the score 2-0 Chiles early. 

Williams would find his groove after a prolonged first inning, putting up zeros the remainder of his outing striking out seven batters over five innings of work on two walks. 

After Williams's exit, Chiles would score ten runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Chiles came thanks to singles by Tag Williams, Will McDonald, and Davis Avera, an error on a ball put in play by Bryce Long and Chris Stanfield, and a groundout by Grant Gallagher.

Dalton Knapp got the win on the bump for Chiles. The southpaw allowed two hits and zero earned runs through his six innings of work, striking out five. 

Shea Thistleton and Anders Chadwell each managed the only hits for Fleming Island. 

Chiles tallied 11 hits on the night. Thies, Gallagher, and Stanfield each racked up multiple hits for Chiles in the 12-1 victory.
