Scouting Report

10/01/22

Physical: Durable, imposing 5-foot-11, 200lb frame. 7.60 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Taller, square stance, as the back knee faces inward to begin. Utilized a coil over the rear hip during a leg-lift stride, initiating the swing through a fluid, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Quick bat-speed worked towards the front of the plate, up to a T96 mph exit velocity (91 mph AVG). Sneaky power with rotational strength into the 349 foot distance range.

Defensively: The primary first baseman featured choppy footwork and an athletic base on the setup. Fielded from the center of his body, using a drop-step on the double play rep to deliver an accurate 79 mph arm-strength (short H ¾ slot).

6/14/22

Physical: Projectable 5-foot-11, 200lb frame with lower-half strength. 7.41 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Crouched, open stance, as the hands operated with waving rhythm above the head. Utilized a short leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through an uphill path into the hitting zone towards a high two-handed finish. Recorded a T93 mph bat-exit velocity with ability to extend on the ball with leverage at the front of the plate for XBH. Worked up to a 356 foot distance via Trackman with middle of the order traits.

Defensively: The first baseman showed developing actions at first base with adequate feel around the bag. A wider base set early at the fielding window, shifting the hips to the target, and reaching back for a 79 mph arm-strength.

Pitching: RHP. Starts off the middle of the rubber; compact delivery that rides the line well down the slope. The FB landed 76-80 mph with lower spin, mixing a gradual low-60’s CB with 11/5 shape into the zone.

2/12/22

Physical: 5-foot-11, 195 pounds; Muscular, proportional build. 7.41 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet just outside shoulder width; uses pre-pitch bat waggle. Keeps hands high and strides forward for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing and aggressive lower half. Showed a slight uphill swing with a high finish around the back. More fly balls than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts in an upright/tall setup; walks into ready position while showing active feet. Hands works out in front with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm swing from various arm slots. INF - 81 MPH.

Pitching: Uses a cetner rubber setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with slight coil away from the plate. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while stabbing downward; high ¾ slot. Upright finish. FB: Peak velo of 82 MPH, while sitting 78-80 MPH; straight action. CB: 60-62 MPH; spots and expands. SL: 67-69 MPH; short action.

10/30/21

Physical: 5-foot-10, 195 pounds; Proportional, sturdy build. 7.68 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish.  More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 93 MPH via Trackman. Violent actions that play directly to the ball. Creates a stretch in the upper half when the lower half opens and the upper half is still moving backward, allowing the bat path to snap into the pitch.

Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep step while active feet. Hands are out in front with a delay in transfer. Moderate arm circle  from a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 79 MPH.
