Western PA Fall Review Highlights

The Western PA Fall Review took place yesterday at La Roche College in Pittsburgh. Following is a look at top in game performances as well as a look at a few prospects that shined during the showcase portion of the day. Complete statistical results on all prospects in attendance will be released in the coming week.
BLACK TEAM:
+ 2018 uncommitted MIF/RHP Jacob McCaskey (Deer Lakes) flashed 85 mph arm strength across the diamond during the showcase portion of the day and took one of the top rounds of batting practice. The right-handed hitter went 3-for-6 in game action and sat 81-83 on the mound with a tight breaking 71 mph curveball.
+ 2020 catcher Keegan Soltis (Philipsburg-Osceola) flashed above average defensive abilities with 75 mph arm strength from the crouch and pop times of 2.05-2.12. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitter had a pair of hits in game action, including a double, and flashed an 87 mph bat exit velocity during a solid round of batting practice.
RED TEAM:
+ 2018 uncommitted 3B/1B Jacob Keene (Butler Area) came within a home run of hitting for the cycle on the day. The 6-foot, 215-pound right-handed hitter went 4-for-6 with two doubles, a triple and a walk on the day. With a pair of college visits lined up in the coming week Keene is not likely to remain uncommitted much longer.
+ 2018 uncommitted OF Nick Trombetta (Harbor Creek) turned in the event's top 60-yard dash at 6.96 and displayed 84 mph arm strength while covering above average.
+ 2020 3B/RHP Mitchell Grosch (Warren Area) flashed a well rounded skill set running a 7.15 60-yard dash and registering an 85 mph bat exit velocity during the showcase portion of the event. The 5-foot-8, 160-pounder also impressed during three innings of work on the mound. Grosch faced just one batter over the minimum allowing one infield single while striking out six batters.
