Uncommitted seniors often begin to get a little uneasy at this point in the early fall. With the early signing period looming in November a general attitude of unrest tends to settle in if the right school has not come calling for them.
Over the coming weeks we will take a look at some unsigned seniors scheduled to participate in PBR Pennsylvania's Unsigned Senior Showcase this fall.
Gressler had a breakout junior season for Altoona Area, going 5-0 with an impressive 1.27 ERA. The 6-foot, 190-pound righty worked 22 innings allowing just six runs, four or which were earned. Gressler displayed solid command issuing just five walks while recording 17 strikeouts on the season.
Following the completion of the Fall College Prospect Program unsigned seniors will have an opportunity to stand out on a day set aside for them to display their talent in front of those schools that are still looking to fill their recruiting needs for the fall of 2016. Gressler will be among the pitchers slated to throw a bullpen.
The 2015 Unsigned Senior Showcase will take place on October 3 at the Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim, PA. This event continues to grow in popularity and in its ability to help match available seniors with college programs that have needs. Over the past three years 37 of 57 prospects have gone on to make college commitments with several others attempting to walk on and make college rosters this fall.
