OF/SS Collin Fantaskey has shown continual growth as a prospect since appearing as a member of Team Pennsylvania at the 2012 Midwest Future Games. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound uncommitted senior gets out of the box extremely well for a right-handed hitter (6.75 60-yard dash). Fantaskey flashed that speed during the fall program as he went 2-for-4 in game action at Mansfield University with two infield singles. He nearly had a 3rd infield single, but was thrown out on a bang-bang play at 1B.
The right-handed hitter has demonstrated an above average 87 mph bat exit velocity and the potential to be a quality hitter at the next level. His swing plane is flat and he barrels the baseball routinely. He adds the dimension of being a premium defender as well. Fantaskey glides to the baseball and has showcased a big arm from the outfield at 90 mph.
Fantaskey will showcase his abilities at the Unsigned Senior Showcase on October 19 at B2B Baseball in Manheim, Pennsylvania. The event will provide talented uncommitted seniors from Pennsylvania and West Virginia the opportunity to perform for college coaches prior to the early signing period in November.
