Scouting Report
7/18/17 5-foot-11, 180-pound primary third baseman made a number of athletic defensive plays and displayed the ability to man the hot corner at the next level. Has showcased 80 mph arm strength across the diamond and 7.21 60-yard dash at previous PBR events. The right-handed hitter went 5-for-10 with two walks and a double in game action over the course of the two day event. Sat 78-81 out of a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound while also commanding a 11/5 breaking curveball at 61-63 and a slider at 73-74. Worked three solid innings, allowing one run while inducing five ground ball outs.
10/29/16 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitter who posted a 90 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Repeated swing out of a slightly open stance, holding hands in a good launch position. Stayed inside the baseball and used the middle of the field during his BP round. Solid across-the-board defensive ability with 80 mph arm strength.
Kicks lead foot out of his balance point, pitching out of a high three-quarter slot with a bit of recoil on finish. Four-pitch mix included a fastball at 80-81, change-up at 70-73 with occasional sink, a big breaking 11/5 curveball at 61-64 that was at its best when he didn't slow arm and cast it, and a slider at 66-69.
9/25/16 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitter. Stayed balanced and hit against his front side, while showing an ability to stay inside the baseball and create backspin during his BP round. Has pre-pitch rhythm in stance and swing has some looseness. While he didn't elevate anything during game action, he routinely barreled the baseball and an 85 mph exit velocity hints at potential gap power. Defensively, he showed solid actions with accurate 82 mph arm strength across the diamond.
Compact delivery with clean arm action into a high three-quarter slot. Fastball was fairly straight at 80-81, while he showed some feel for a big, loopy curveball with 11/5 action at 63-65.
