Uncommitted seniors often begin to get a little uneasy at this point in the early fall. With the early signing period looming in November a general attitude of unrest tends to settle in if the right school has not come calling for them.
Following the completion of the Fall College Prospect Program this group will have its opportunity to stand out on a day set aside for uncommitted seniors to display their talent in front of those schools that are still looking to fill their recruiting needs for the fall of 2015.
The 2014 Unsigned Senior Showcase will take place on October 18 at the Keystone State Baseball Academy (formerly B2B Baseball Academy) in Manheim, PA. This event continues to grow in popularity and in its ability to help match available seniors with college programs that have needs. Over the past two years 26 of 38 prospects have gone on to make college commitments with several others attempting to walk on and make college rosters this fall.
As the roster begins to fill for this year's event we will spotlight each of the prospects scheduled to participate in advance of October 18.
1B/C Thomas Prato (Central bucks east)
Prato is a 6-foot-1, 220-pound C/1B from Central Bucks East HS. He was a 3rd team All-Conference 1B and an American/Continental Carpenter Cup selection as a junior in 2014. Prato is coming off a junior season in which he hit .320 with a .436 on base percentage and 10 runs scored. The right-handed hitter banged out four doubles and a triple in 2014, numbers that could grow significantly with his projectable size.
