Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while showing some scap load; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 87 MPH, while sitting 86-87 MPH; arm side run with sink. CB: 68-71 MPH; showed depth. CH: 80-82 MPH; fading action. Highly intriguing arm. Plus spin FB and CH. Entire arsenal displayed good movement, FB with heavy life runs at a max of 16in. CB avg -13.5 IVB. CH with low IVB runs at 17in HM.
6/12/22
Physical: Durable, starter’s frame at 6-foot-3, 192lbs. Pitchability traits and mound presence.
Pitching: RHP. Begins from the far left side of the rubber with fast, on-the-go pace. Gets to a balanced stack position and creates natural stretch before closing the gap into footstrike. H ¾ release on an 82-85 mph FB with jump up above the letters. Added above-average 63-67 mph CB that varied shape and velocity, gaining swing/miss often. A deceptive 75-77 mph CH rounded out the arsenal with natural fade; weapon to lefties. Feel for three from the same window.
2/12/22
Physical: 6-foot-3, 198 pounds; Long, muscular build. Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while showing effortless and fluid actions; high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 86 MPH, while sitting 84-86 MPH; life through the zone. CB: 67-69 MPH; late action. ;CH: 80-81 MPH; fading action.
6/15/21
Physical: Lean, projectable 6-foot-2, 175lb frame with athleticism in the actions. 7.09 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Slightly bent, even stance with the hands showing slight/controlled rhythm at the ear to begin. Utilized a deep toe tap stride to initiate the barrel through a flat path into the hitting zone. Lots of length/leverage at the front of the plate creating weight-shift and drift at times into a stiff front side. Posted a 46% line drive rate via Trackman with good bat head control during a balanced batting practice round, featuring his best connected swings to the LCF gap/pull. Worked up to a T86 mph bat-exit velocity and notched a 262 foot batted ball distance pointing towards developing doubles power at the moment.
Defensively: The primary third baseman operated with some grace/fluidity, beating the ball to the spot with a low/bursty first step and ability to handle plays to his left side. Low, soft glove hand that funneled inward to a smooth exchange at waist height. Released accurately from a high ¾ slot, carrying 81 mph throws across the diamond to the target. Able to make plays on the move with ability to change slots.
Pitching: RHP - Started sideways off the left side of the rubber; quick pace and some funk to the delivery, getting to a drop/drive move down the slope. Got over the front side well at release creating heavy downward tilt on all pitches at a H ¾ release. The FB pounded at the knees from 77-78 mph (1904rpms AVG, slight arm-side run) and later mixed a gradual, 11/5 63-65 mph CB when ahead.
2/07/21
Physical: Long and lean 6-foot-1, 169-pound frame with feel for the body in all phases of the game; projectability present. 7.46 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance with the hands wagging from the shoulder to the head pre-load; utilized a deliberate leg lift to a high position as the bat head played through a flat path with some weight shift into the front side at impact. Tight, athletic turns at the hitting window allowing for a mostly pull-side approach through the LCF gap. Was on time at the front of the plate recording an 89 mph bat-exit velocity; a 23.3 mph hand speed gives confidence he can handle higher velocities down the line.
Defensively: The primary third baseman featured solid defensive abilities from a low setup at the fielding window, got the chest downhill with push off the backside creating a feel for pace across the diamond; a 79 mph arm strength was accurate from a short “V slot” with consistency. Ability to make the play on the run as well.
Pitching: RHP - Above-average pace on the bump with a forward stepping rocker step into a medium leg lift at the top of the stack; early separation with the hands and a release through a high ¾ slot. FB ranged from 76-78 mph with some play up in the zone with up to 21+ inches of IVB. Mixed a 67 mph SL up to 8 inches of true horizontal play across the plate.
3/08/20
5-foot-9, 145-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and rides his stride to contact. Stays behind the baseball and showed a feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 78 mph and ran an 8.03 60-yard dash. Showcased solid defensive actions at third base with accurate 74 mph arm strength across the diamond. The righty sat 74-75 from a high 3/4 arm slot with an easy, fluid delivery. Gets downhill consistently and creates arm-side run on his fastball. Curveball at 64-68 is a pitch in development with erratic 11/5 rotation.
3/10/19
5-foot-6, 110-pound primary right-handed pitcher sat 66-69 mph with arm-side run from a repeatable 3/4 arm-slot. Commanded a 62-65 mph changeup that featured heavy arm-side run. The righty demonstrated adequate feel for a 64-66 mph slider. The right-handed hitter starts with a square stance and uses a lift-and-replace stride to begin his swing. Registered a 68 mph bat-exit velocity and recorded an 8.56 60-yard dash time. Showcased adequate footwork during defensive evaluations while displaying accurate 63 mph throws across the infield.
