Scouting Report

6/15/21

Physical: Athletic, compact 5-foot-10, 170lb frame with some strength found in the actions. 6.82 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, shoulder-width start with quiet hands in the stance at a loose position. Utilized a short leg lift stride initiating the bat head through an explosive, connected slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Impressive barrel awareness with good posture in the legs, driving the ball for extra-bases to the LCF gap using leverage in the approach. Worked his way up to a T91 mph bat-exit velocity featuring fluid movements that carried over to game action. A 44% line drive rate via Trackman points to the ability to hit for AVG down the line.

Defensively: The primary backstop showcased a strong, traditional stance on the receive with a soft glove hand operating with subtle gestures on either corner. Pop times got down into the 1.95-2.00 range with low posture and immediate straight line footwork to the second base bag, getting the back foot in the ground quickly. Released from a high ¾ accurate slot (74 mph arm) and flashed trusted blocking skills on pitches with down angles.
