Uncommitted Spotlight: 2021 OF Brian Henesey (Springside Chestnut Hill Academy)
November 5, 2020 Staff Ground Forces
Scouting Report
7/15/20
Physical: Strong and sturdy 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame with advanced power in the lower half of the build. 6.95 runner in the 60-yard dash featuring sneaky athleticism in the movements.
Offensively: RHH. Tall, slightly bent stance with the weight shifted towards the front side in the setup, the hands worked out in front of the ear with minor rhythm. Utilized a controlled move backwards to load position coupled with a leg-hang stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. The hands created space by turning the barrel early in the swing allowing for violence through extension which he showed advanced feel for. Demonstrated above average usage of the lower half, connecting to the ground with sink into the backside upon launch. Worked gap to gap with hard contact showcasing natural backspin while registering a top bat-exit velocity of 91 mph per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary outfielder flashed advanced instincts during defensive evaluations while displaying feel for lateral movements in either direction. Could drop step and go get it in the gaps with solid straight line speed (6.95 runner) and used an aggressive, soft glove hand out in front of the left side on the approach. Should be able to handle two of the three outfield positions at the next level. OF - 82 mph
2/22/20

Defensively: Fundamental footwork when attacking the ball, head is always watching the ball, strong arm to the plate. Medium arm swing, tight, compact throw. OF - 81 MPH.
