Scouting Report
6/14/17 Lanky 6-foot-5, 175-pounder pitches out of a high three-quarter slot. Soft stab out of glove with good hand speed out front. Has progressed nicely since we last saw him nearly one year ago, as fastball now sits 82-84. Throws a quality change-up at 73-76 with good armspeed, while his curveball has big 1/7 shape at 64-66 when he gets on top of it. Left-handed hitter starts from a slightly closed stance with weight unbalanced toward back leg. Limited use of his lower half and would benefit from strength gains to help get the barrel moving. Ran a 7.39 60-yard dash and recorded 82 mph exit velocity. Feet and arm slot work well on double-play feeds.
7/20/16 Ultra-lean, 6-foot-5, 165-pound frame. Compact delivery with short arm action into a three-quarter slot. Deliberate wind-up with controlled leg lift. Lands with front foot open, which leads to some collapse of his front leg and lack of a fulcrum to push against. Fastball sat 78-80 with some baby tail at the end. Secondary stuff included a loopy curveball with 1/7 action at 62-64 and a change-up at 70-71.
4/25/16 6-foot-5, 165-pound sophomore worked 7th inning for the save working around a bases loaded jam with a strikeout and pop up to secure the 2-1 win. Showed good tempo with late life to fastball with tilt at 79-82. Fastball displayed some late run and occasional cut when he gets around it. Threw two curveballs that both bit hard to back foot of right handed hitters and one solid changeup at 74 mph. Good rhythm to delivery, quick arm for a lanky lefty and plenty of time and room to mature physically makes Adametz a definite follow in this class.
