By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting
The pool of high level third basemen in Pennsylvania is not tremendously deep, but the top end of that pool is extremely talented. Today the PBR Pennsylvania "12 Days of Christmas" series will focus on the most promising high school third basemen in Pennsylvania.
-
Matt Rowland, Class of 2013, Chestnut Hill Academy
Rowland is a 6-foot, 190-pound University of Louisville recruit. He has a solid 82 mph arm across the infield and runs a 6.67 60-yard dash. With his athleticism and foot speed, a move to the outfield could be in the future for Rowland. He is ranked No. 2 in PA and No. 24 in the PA combined rankings in the Class of 2013.
-
Brett Hileman, Class of 2013, Hollidaysburg HS
Hileman is a 6-foot, 190-pound University of Pittsburgh recruit with a plus arm. On the mound his fastball sits 86-88 and tops out at 90. Hileman is 88 mph across the infield and runs a 6.86 60-yard dash. He is ranked No. 6 in PA and No. 51 in the PBR combined rankings in the Class of 2013. -
Ryan Karstetter, Class of 2015, State College HS

He finished the 2012 season in the top ten in several offensive categories in Southeastern Pennsylvania, including batting average. He is ranked No. 16 in PA and No. 118 in the PBR combined rankings in the Class of 2014. -
